Journal History

The American Medical Student Research Journal (AMSRJ) was founded in August of 2013 by Nadine Kaskas, David Ballard, and Jeff Weisman. Serving as Editor-in-Chief, Deputy Editor, and Managing Editor, respectively, they created this independent, peer-reviewed academic publication to give medical students across the globe the opportunity to learn the peer review process and serve as reviewers and editors. AMSRJ was incorporated as a non-profit organization in October of 2013 and has continued to flourish with a multi-institutional Editorial Board and Faculty Advisory Board.
